The International Fuel Tax Agreement (or IFTA) is an agreement between the lower 48 states of the United States and the Canadian provinces, to simplify the reporting of fuel use by motor carriers that operate in more than one jurisdiction
Legal Requirement: If you operate a qualifying vehicle in multiple states, you're required by law to have an IFTA license and decals.
Over 26,000 lbs GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), or
Has 3 or more axles, regardless of weight,
And travels in more than one IFTA jurisdiction (state or province).
